Trigger X Marks the Sport - New Shapes from ICAST 2010

We always like seeing what the gang from Normark cooks up from year to year. They are "fish heads" like us and they make some of the most popular baits out there through brands like Rapala, Luhr Jensen, Storm, Terminator, Sufix and Trigger X.
We ran into our buddy Terry Bolton at the show and he was nice enough to show us the new shapes for 2011.

The first shape is the Hammer Worm. This 10-inch worm features a ribbed body and a very flexible thin tail. The thing that usually hinders bio baits is they are too rigid and don't have the movement of conventional plastic baits. But that's not the case with this worm. It looks great in the water.
Now if we can convince Trigger X to make a Plum, RedBug or maybe Watermelon Candy worm in those colors, we'd be really fired up! But for now we'll go catch some bass on the Junebug worm on Ky Lake.

The other new shape for 2011 is a neat bait called the Big Moe. It's sort of a cross between a lizard and a craw. The top legs look like regular lizard legs then the back legs are more like craw flappers and it's got a massively wide thumping curl tail. It looks like a dynamite big profile Carolina Rig bait.

The Flappin Bug and Flappin Craw both now come in 3-inch sizes making them good jig trailers. Which is needed in the lineup.
So the Trigger X now has a good stable of shapes and sizes. We think if they expand to a few more proven colors, they've got a real player in the "bio-bait" market. Kudos to them for their packaging being very manageable and easy to use and store.
We'll let you know how our on-the-water tests go with the new shapes very soon.
