TightLines UV weights - Next Generation of non-lead weights

We stopped and talked to Brett Ware, owner of TightLines. His company entered the market about a year ago with a line of baits that reflect Ultraviolet light. It was very interesting to hear the science behind his baits.

Basically in shallow water 80 percent of the light reflected is Ultraviolet light while 20 percent is natural light. In deep water, 100 percent is ultraviolet and none of it is natural light.

They applied that to their new plastics the UV hog and the UV tube. But probably the coolest thing we saw in the show this year was the new 1/2 ounce bullet weight they call the Big Bertha. It's slightly bigger than a lead weight but it's a dense plastic. With the plastic weight you don't have to worry about line fray and he was able to blend his UV properties into the weight itself.
This could make for a very interesting Big worm or flipping weight and we're very excited to see what opportunities this technology that he has mastered offers. According to Ware, he can make the plastic denser and change the shape even more. So we're eager to try some soon.
Their plastics and weights will retail for around $5.99 and bag count will depend on the size and shape of the plastic. Each bag has each bait individually wrapped as well so you can just tear off your next bait and go. Pretty cool stuff we thought.
