Abu Garcia Getting Slick with Rods and Reels

Abu Garcia has been a standard in reels for a long time, and since the introduction of the Revo, has really been making some noise in the more sleeker, trendy, but premium low-profile, quality reels. Recently they introduced rods like the Vendetta.
This year they had an exciting new high-end spinning reel called the Revo Premiere Spinning reel. It incorporates a new technology for plating the outside of the reel that results in a sturdier, durable reel that won't flex. In their booth they had a drinking straw covered in this new material called NanoShield. They borrowed the technology from the Nuclear Power energy because it's highly corrosion resistant as well as incredibly strong and it won't chip, flake, rust or corrode.
Back to the drinking straw. In the case the straw was across to risers and a rope was tied to it holding up a 10-pound universal weight. They told me it holds a 20-pound weight but the weight didn't fit in the display case.
They had a ping pong ball coated in NanoShield and I stood up on it without it crushing. Tough stuff.
The reel has a $249 price point, but if you're in the market for a high-end, durable, good looking reel to match a high-end enthusiast rod, this is the reel.

The two new rods we really liked. The first is the Abu Garcia Veritas rod. It features a white 30-ton modulous blank, titanium guides with silicone inserts, sleek machined aluminum top cap on the reel seet, split grip, light and balanced. The rod is an aggressively cosmetic design, and if you can stand the white color, you're going to love the $99 price tag. These are the rods that Mike Iaconelli has been using all season on the Bassmaster Elite Series. This is the first time we've held one and we came away very impressed.
A step up from that was the Verdict rods. They employ a 36-ton modulous graphite but again aggressively styled, light but strong and they feature an Extending Handle System (EHS). They can twist the butt and shorten or lengthen the split grip on the rod.
Both rods also feature Nano technology to make the blanks more chip and knick resistant and lend to the overall power of the rods.
